Description of the event: This presentation will provide attorneys with information regarding when a competency referral is warranted, what occurs during a competency evaluation, and how to understand and evaluate the resulting opinion. The presentation will also address circumstances in which obtaining a second opinion may be appropriate and what attorneys and defendants can expect following a finding of incompetency.
