CDAM maintains active representation and legal advocacy across Michigan's justice system through dedicated member appointments to key state regulatory bodies, advisory boards, and the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission (MIDC).

Michigan Community Correction BoardOne seat is designated for the criminal defense community, selected by CDAM's President. CDAM's representative is Tiffany DeBruin. |
Michigan Consortium on Law EnforcementCDAM is given one seat on the MCCOLES board, appointed by Michigan's Governor for a list of three submitted by CDAM. CDAM representative is Arthur J. Weiss. |
Michigan Indigent Defense CommissionCDAM currently has three representatives on the MIDC: Michael Carter, Loren Khogali, and James R Samuels, whose terms expire April 1, 2028. CDAM three representatives are appointed by Michigan's Governor from a list of nine (9) individuals submitted by CDAM. There are restrictions as to who can serve of the Commission, “[a]ny person who receives compensation from this state or an indigent criminal defense system for providing…representation to indigent adults in state courts is ineligible to serve as a member on the MIDC.” |
Michigan Mental Health Diversion CouncilCDAM is given on seat on the Michigan Mental Health Diversion Council. The representative has experience representing individuals with mental illness. This is a 3 year term expires on January 30, 2028. CDAM's Representative is Jessica Mainprize. |

Michigan Sentencing CommissionCDAM has one seat on the Michigan Sentencing Commission, appointed by the Michigan State Senate Leader, from a list of three names. CDAM's representatives is Anne Yantus. |
State Bar of Michigan Criminal Law SectionCDAM is given one seat on the SBM Criminal Law Section. Our current representative is Richard Schaaf. Appointments are made the CDAM's president. |
